<p dir=”ltr”><span>Fr. John LaFarge, S.J. (1880&ndash;1963) was a champion for interracial justice and ecumenism. He was a long-time editor and writer for </span><span>America&nbsp;</span><span>magazine. He authored several books, including </span><em>No Postponement: U.S. Moral Leadership and the Problem of Racial Minorities and The Catholic Viewpoint on Race Relations</em><span> as well as his popular autobiography </span><span><em>The Manner Is Ordinary</em>.</span><span> He died a few months after participating in the Civil Rights March in Washington.</span></p>
